Kula Fields Strawberry Mac Nut Bread  – Summer 2011

Notable Edibles – Oahu, Fall 2009

Notable Edibles – Oahu, winter 2010

~ Every Friday, Kula Fields delivers an incredible box of Hawaii grown veggies to my doorstep in Kailua. I get the small box which feeds 2-3 people for a week but there are two other sizes. I have not seen veggies like this anywhere here on Oahu.  The beets are the size of tennis balls, the avocados are huge and creamy, the tomatoes vary from roma to grape to beefsteak, there are two or three kinds of lettuce, bok choy, green beans, cucumber, eggplant,  onions, zucchini, sweet potatoes, radish, arugula,  you name it.
The selection changes from week to week depending on what they can get from the farmers. There are also all kinds of totally fresh herbs.  During the holidays I especially appreciated the packet with sage and the huge pumpkin from which I made pie using coconut milk and evaporated cane juice. While I asked not to have fruit in my box, it’s a choice you can make and, while all the veggies are not necessarily organic, they are for the most part unsprayed. You can express you own requests.  You also can select your own schedule, weekly, every other week, etc. and you can change your schedule by emailing them by Sunday at 10pm. You do not have to be present…just tell them where to leave the box.  I am thrilled every week and I’ve been doing this for quite a while now. I wanted to make sure that Kula Fields was reliable and reputable. This is a really exciting opportunity for vegetarians on Oahu.

~ I loved the box that I got yesterday from Kula Fields…it was amazingly fresh, better than what I get at the farmers market, like it had just been fresh picked!  Everything was nicely packed in biodegradable bags.  The large box is twice as big as the small and I specified all organic, which is an option.  Everything was amazing!  I like the flexibility of being able to cancel the Sunday prior to Friday Kailua delivery, if I need to, or opt for every other week…. where this is not always true with other CSA’s.  You can specify things you do not like or are allergic to, and they will substitute other choices   They also can send eggs, coffee and honey etc.  But, the best part is they deliver directly to my house!

~ All the best  delivered DIRECT TO MY DOOR!!!!!! What a great box this week! If you could smell the basil, strawberries, onions, bok choy, broccoli, see the beautiful zucchini, jicama, oranges, lettuces, tomatoes and much much more! Kula Fields beautiful job! An absolutely fabulous service.  A real God send to be able to support farmers and their hard work and not even leave my house! I am so glad to have begun using this means of local consumption! They also purvey from other islands as well. We must support small business in any way we can!

~ We are a family of four and LOVE our CSA box every other week from Kula Fields. I always make a point to work from home on deliver day and love to create a fresh healthy meal from my delivery…all without leaving home. Now, more than ever it’s so important that we support local farmers and keep our business local, it’s especially important to cook local fresh healthy food for our families.

~ I just wanted to share a quick note of how wonderful Kulafields and the service and beautiful fruits and vegatables are. I so look forward to my box of “healthy jewels”.
I refer all my clients to Kula Fields, for they make eating healthy easy and custom to your tastes and food needs.
As a fitness professional I highly recommend trying this unique, professional service. It’s the best thing you can do your body!

In good health,

~ I wanted to quickly write to say how pleased my husband and I are with your service. The quality of food is outstanding. We’ve already recommended it to several of our friends. We’re so excited each week to receive our box of fresh veggies and fruits. We especially enjoy the delicious tomatoes, kale, and varieties of lettuce! We love being able to contribute to local farms. We appreciate how your business is “nutritious” for the island of Maui in so many ways. Even for our budget! Keep up the great work. Preparing meals in our home has become even more delightful.

with gratitude,

Kelley and Matt

~ I absolutely LOVE Kula Fields produce! They deliver their wonderful produce directly to my door. It is like Christmas every week opening the new box of goodies they leave for me. Woo hoo – try them out!

~ Kula Fields is our Maui group for Community Supported Agriculture. They seek out local farmers using organic and sustainable growing practices and deliver a box of goodies direct from the farm to your door once a week. The quality of the produce is astonishing! Warning though – local fresh-picked food is entirely addictive and you’ll never be able to buy supermarket fruit again. Not even Whole Foods. The boxes have a good mix – essentials like lettuce and tomatos along with a surprise or two like basil or lemongrass. I love plotting my menus when I get the weekly box of goodies.

If you live here, sign up now! If you’re visiting in a condo, you can still get a one-time delivery of this awesome array of tropical veggie goodness. You may even get some mangoes in the box in season.

Love, love, love this whole idea of supporting sustainable local agriculture while eating the best food I’ve ever had.

~ I have really enjoyed Kula Fields—so exciting to see what’s in the box each time! Its challenged me to cook with veggies I wouldn’t normally buy so I’ve learned new recipes and dishes, eaten healthier and stayed local. Such a good program.
